Money- Cover for money held at the event, such as door receipts.
Additional cover, such as enforced reduced attendance* or adverse weather cover for outdoor
events, is also available.
*Enforced reduced attendance - Cover for where a substantial number of paying visitors are unable to attend the event due to the same insured cause.
Why is Event Insurance important?
Organising and running an event can involve many unpredictable risks and things can and often do go wrong. An event insurance policy will meet the costs involved should the worst happen, for example
A celebrity speaker or entertainer fails to turn up due to an emergency, event guests feel let down and demand a refund of their ticket price.
Adverse weather prevents an outdoor event going ahead as scheduled, event insurance will pay reasonable costs associated with rescheduling the event or cancelling it altogether.
So you can see that event insurance is essential for anybody involved in organising and running an event.
Who Needs Event Insurance?
Throughout the year, many people and companies will be running events. These could be product launches, sales conferences, company parties, fireworks displays, charity fundraising events and many other social and corporate gatherings. Liability, cancellation and property risks for events often fall outside both commercial and household policies so anyone organising an event will require event insurance.
Some Typical Exclusions of an Event Insurance Policy
As with all insurance policies there are exclusions from cover under an event insurance policy and these include
Event contractors.
Liability cover for participants of some sporting events.
Organisers who also act as travel agents, although we can cover their cancellation and property risks.
Liability cover for very large concerts and music festivals.
Liability cover for single events that are open to the public and held in the US or Canada.
